:( :( :( :( AHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh!

(Its the Original BF2, not SF)

ARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHhh!:frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:

It says that whenever i try to join a server.

Well, A lot of bf2:sf users had this problem, and in this thread is the solution. Maybe you can apply the same thing to bf2.

1) Basicly go to
Hkey_local_Machine/Software/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Battlefield2/ergc

2) Then when your there delete what is there, and replace it with your CDkey
3) Download a program called bf2cdkeycheck
4) Run that program. And thats it.

(edit: if this doesn't fiz it, then kamikazi is probably right, and you should contact EA, you should show proof that you bought it and they will cancel that CD-key and give you a new one I think. Then just take that one and do what I described)

usually when that happens you either dl the game and is playing it illegaly (which i dont think that you would do) or someone else dled the game illegaly and in an 1 in a million chance chose your cd-key (which is the more likely of the two)

Is this happening to all the servers that you join or just a specific one?

I had this problem also and just fixed it yesterday. When I fixed the cdkey invalid problem I ran into another problem with me not being able to join a server because my content being modified when trying to join a server. I just uninstalled the game and downloaded the 1.12 patch off of filefront instead of fileplanet and it fixed all of my issues. I didn't even have to use the cd key fix.

I had that same problem. Although I had to update to the next patch.

There is also the "CD key bound to certain windows users"

so maybe just...i dunno, go on any other users on the computer and try to play it?

I hadn't played for a month, so when I tried yesterday, it says that on all servers. I'll try grey fox's thing first.

(note: It happened when I patched to 1.12)

edit: where do i get the bf2cdkeychecker?

Thanks guys! Especially Grey Fox. If there was a rep system, I would give you a trillion points. :E

YAY! *goes to education facility*

So will that solution work for cd-keys working only on windows profiles, on which the patch was applied? Cause my bro has to play on my windows profile, using my xfire and stuff.

I have an even worse situation ..new computer try to install bf2, enter cd-key and it's says it's not valid ..wtf??? ..I really dont have time to spend on the phone with some EA tech support guy trying to prove I actually paid for my copy the day it was released ..this is getting rediculous with the anti-pirating measures

Pretty ghetto, sell it on Ebay, then buy another one.

*that's my, I have no idea, answer :(*

try to install it with a keygen, then after that simply change the cdkey the way i wrote before.

EA sucks. I'm glad it's only Half-Life 2's distributer, not the publisher itself. That was so close.

oooh that's a good idea

fixed it by updating my mobo's chipset drivers for some odd reason

What? What does chipset drivers have to do with BF2 cd-keys?

I dont know but as soon as I updated it worked ..I'm guessing it had something to do with accessing the bf2 network

I got now. BF2 changes the internal speaker of your PC to sound inaudible corporate advertising to make you buy more games. But since your mobo was out of date, it coudn't and BF2 refused to run.

:upstare: ...the simplest solution is almost always the correct one ..since my network access was limited it could contact the bf2 servers ..you kknow ..the ones that has our info (name stats etc)
