CD-RW Help!

I have a small problem here.. I can only burn CDs with my CD-RW with the software that came with it. When I download Nero6, Alcohol %120, ISO burner.. etc.. etc.. it wont work.
Anyone know what might cause this? EVERYTHING on my system is up to date.. any help would be appreciated!!!~

Yeah, some cd burners (especially crappy OEM ones) are a bit crap like that... like mine There is nothing you can do, but i might be able to reccomend some software that DOES support your drive.

What CD drive do you have, and what was the free software you got with it?

I have a MITSUMI CR-487ETE, and it came with Nero 5.5.10.5
I also noticed it wont burn onto all CDs, only certain brands.
Any help?

Hmmm, not too familiar with that drive. You might want to try a program called CD Mate.

It's similar to Nero, if not better, and reasonably powerful at the same time. It's also known as a program that works with almost all drives, including my stupid OEM one

As for your problem with only burning to certain brand CD's... errrr.... thats weird. On the brands it doesn't burn to have you tried turning down the speed of the burning? Cause they might just be crap ones. Personally i don't burn at anything higher than 20x

My old 4X burner that I got with my compaq would NOT burn correctly with fuji film cd's. Maybe every 5th try would work...

note: i have a new LG 48X burner

note: I have a new better non-big retail store computer.
