My CD writer now doesn't work (according to hardware manager it's an ASUS CRW-4824AH). It won't finish writing a CD and sometimes, despite there being a disc in the drive, will not see any disc in the drive. Also if it fails to write a CD, it will refuse to eject the CD until I restart my computer. The only thing that has changed is that I got a new graphics card recently (Radeon 9600XT)
