Because it irritates people. Take you signiture for example. It makes it look like you are linking to an entertaining flash, so if I click it expecting one, I will get irritated that I have been mislead. I'm a nice person, most people are not and flames are not nice.

I know your going to say "Awwww, but I think its fun/funny". Well, most people don't, so, as this place is a community, the majority is looked after and ********s gets banned.
either that or the admins get as pissed off as I do with those links.

Oh for crying out loud, "aww mommy the links are misleading!", ever heard of the term 'hovering'? I've never once ran into these links without knowing, you see the ******** text down in a magical place called the statusbar..

I (and apparently many others) think it's way too harsh to censor them for that reason alone.. I enjoyed clicking them to see how many people had clicked them before.

Well, it was mentioned to me that outwars (the domain in which the wars with trouts is using) was the perpetrator in the spoiler attack, so blocking their links would be a good idea, I think.

But I don't really think it was all that bad to have them in your sigs. I mean, it teaches everyone a lesson about clicking any links. And some of them had good titles, like ailivations: "Pics of Girls I know" (which i spun off on with "Pics of my Girlfriend" ). You click that, and you deserve to be bludgened with a big smelly dead trout.

Some were a bit obnoxious with HL2 info and stuff, but isn't that to be expected on the intarweb?

Eh, oh well, doesn't really matter that they were blocked, and the reasons are just fine :thumbs:

qckbeam, the sig is a bit too big mate.

It needs to be no larger than the space that'd be taken up by four lines of normal sized text. Yours is probably around 10 at the moment. :|
