Changed display and cant view anything

I was changing the display settings on half-life 2 when i accidentally changed the settings to wide screen 16:10 (i think) and 1280x1024 resolution (that part is fine) but as soon as i changed it to the 16:10 wide screen my monitor said it couldn't display it. Now i cant see anything when i start half-life 2 and because i cant see anything i cant change the display settings 2 something compatible with my monitor. Does anyone know if there is a way 2 change the games settings or restore them 2 default before starting the game? Help would be most appreciated. Thx

Right-click on the shortcut icon for Half Life 2 and select Properties. Under the properties, enter this command variables in the Target box. It should read something like this,

"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -width 1024 -height 768
