Changing the High Dynamic Range

How do I change my High Dynamic Range in my Advanced Video Options? The box is grey and it doesn't let me click it. Not being able to see things 10 feet in front of me is very freaking annoying. Please help.

if its greyed then thats means your running in dx8.1 mode or lower and if it is then i wouldnt recommend hdr on

Typing mat_dxlevel 90 into the console should make the box un-grey in Advanced Video Options, because you are forcing the graphics card onto Direct X level 9.0. Dxlevel 90 is needed in order to turn High Dynamic Range on.
