I made this rig a few months ago because my old comp could not handle most of the new games coming out.
Since i like it so much i decided to share it with the world.
AMD ATHLON XP 3200+
2 512MB Kingston value ram
2 SATA Hitachi 80GB Hard drives (striped)
Kingwin T-424 case with 450W power supply with or without neon light.
RADEON 9800 256 (< I have) or RADEON 9800 PRO 128(< my friend has)
Creative audigy 2 zs gamer (only if you have surround sound)
ASUS A7V8X-E Deluxe mother board
Floppy drive
sony 700A DVD_RW (duel layer)
Total cost = around $1200
you can find all the parts on www.pricewatch.com
thats it.
this computer runs cs source with all graphics options maxed at 70 fps (While in a fight)
It also can run doom everything maxed with about 30 - 40 fps.
PS. yes i know the faster AMD 64 3200 is out now but i built this before i could get my hands on the 64 3200.
