I am slamming 50 bucks on the table that the first day CS:S is playable there will be atleast 1 cheat, wether it be private or public or clan. Any body else wonna place bets?

P.S. I DO NOT support cheating. If you are caught cheating be prepared for IMMEDIATE castration.

First day?

Definitally not, I'd give it a week at least though.

Well, with the leak of unfinished HL2 and some of the source leaked. I'm sure somebody is testing on normal HL2, and with a few quick tweaks it would work with CS:S.

VALVe rewrote a large portion of their networking code to prevent exploits like that. They're sure it's just as secure as it would have been if their source hadn't been stolen.

I'd give it a month, maybe more.

DEFINETLY there will be cheats out within a week. the first day? i dont know.

Id say a month.. cuz makeing a hack sounds hard..

lol :)

i really cant see the point in cheating....

why?

why?

I hope that VALVe have closed all the loopholes that the traditional CS hackers have exploited. This should mean that there would be no quick port of OGC/Wallhack etc etc. I'm sure some sad git will make one eventually, unless there are some real deterants. Bannation should be automatic and Steam wide. for starters.

All people are doing by creating such threads as this is making it a competition to see who can be the first cracker/hacker to beat Valve (pathetic, I know! :dozey: ).

If you ask me, I say all cheaters are loosers that should use their knowledge to help people rather than ****ing about, ruining a game that will bring people alot of pleasure.

I don't play to win, I play to have fun! and I think this is a fundamental that alot of people forget... ITS ONLY A GAME!

:sniper: Cheaters

Cheaters who create programs often don't see it as a problem, often because they justify it as using their skills.

However people who just download programs to play, well they're the sort of people who suck. Most people cheat to disrupt the game cause they get some odd satifaction doing it... weird people, they should get girlfriends (or boyfriends)

I'm not justifying cheating, nor do I tolarate it. But I'm just putting it in their eyes.

First day? I wouldn't be suprised if they are already cheats out for it. They will be hacks within the first hour. Its always been like that.

With the new engine along with VAC2 hacking will be harder but I'd rather not think of when the first hack is released :)

People will be to busy cleaning the drool from their chins while playing to worry about writing and or using cheats.

Didn't Valve say somewhere that they would take legal action to the online cheats creators? :p

The point in cheating is to "get better skill" some cheat site that I got accidentally drawn to (my friend told me to go there for some cool PS2 cheats), and it said, "Making n00bz l337 since 2001"

Hacks do NOT, i repeat, do NOT make you elite.

I discourage the use of ALL cheats.

Any more, I think CS is getting to the point where its seeing who's cheat is better.

Hopefully the CS : S beta will be 'insecure' so that if someone does break it down then there is nothing that they can use to create cheats for the final release.

I don't know much about coding hacks, but...like...can they really whip up a hack from a brand new game with what is I'm sure a very complex source code in a week?

I'd say at least a month...but I might just be optimistic.

Because people arent uber like us, they need hacks to be good

If HL² is almost read to ship then it is probable that the shippable version of CS:S is already finished. The beta test will probably be simply a means of identifying any last minute problem areas (that can be resolved with an inital steam update) that exist with online play, before launching it wholesale. It's unlikely we will see any hacks until the game reaches retail.

u know what would be teh funneh?
if someone does all that hard work and releases a cheat a month after release.. then 1 day later Valve sends an update through Steam :E

i'd like to see the expression on that fruitcake's face.. haha

 you werent making a joke about WON were you?? i still find that funny :D

Valve's intention is to frequetly 'change the code base' through Steam so hackers will have to rewrite they programs perhaps every other day. It stops Valve having to be on a defensive foot all the time.

It really isnt that bad right now. 1.1 and 1.3 were the worst by far.

IMO I think that cheating in css will be rare because the cd key is worth alot.

Vac has a good tactic to ban cheaters! when a cheat is detected, the users won't be banned at first! it waits a month or so. then the cheaters think "wow it's not detected" and spread it :p after some time many cheaters using it can be found and banned ^^ MUAHAHAH BAN THE CHEATING FAGS YEAHHH
