I think this will be interesting. It's always good to have the CPU and GPU working well together, but at the same time, this may reduce innovation, as the interests of AMD will need to be considered more heavily.

Intel and Nvidia work together only to get working products out for themselves really. And completely different corporate culture unlike AMD and ATI, so I hear. Rumors say Nvidia might try to make a CPU.
Oh and here are some Intel PR on the AMD/ATI site linked from Tom's hardware.
Will be interesting to see if that stays or goes. Would show how open AMD plans to be with ATI's gfx/chipset market.
