He's only 17, but he has already matured so much as a filmmaker already. He's kind of becoming a film snob, but I like it because that means I get to watch some crazy, abstract, weird and/or deep films like Brazil and Eraserhead. Terry Gilliam has recently become his biggest role model.

Here's his claymation titled "IG-O-TA". It has won awards at Maine film festivals, and it was also showcased at a student film festival in Sacramento, CA. I still think this is one of his best works. For fans of David Lynch, here's a cool fact: he made this before he knew anything about Eraserhead.

Now for his latest film. A live action with some claymation and special effects. I love this one because it continues his great work with visual effects and sound design. This film is more of a collaboration, because his friend scored the soundtrack. It's a lot longer too (16 minutes or so), but it's very engaging throughout so I hope you'll watch this one.

It's called "Withdrawals of Shuteye" and you can probably guess what it's about. It's in two parts:

My bro and I are currently drafting an outline and script for a feature length crime drama, and we're hoping to finish a sci-fi short by the end of the summer. I hope you like his stuff!

The first one was kinda meh, the second one was actually really intriguing.

My bro's 11. He did some stop animation stuff with his legos and my digital camera. Funny shit.

The first one was pretty cool. Thought the dialogue and delivery of it could use some improvement in the second one, and I couldn't hear the speaking very clearly in some parts (I couldn't understand anything the red clay dude said) but I might just have really bad hearing. But it was pretty amusing when he said "B-b-b-b-bagels" and stabbed the bagels -- I was like "No dude it's ok, maybe they're just jelly donuts!" When he screamed "These are jjjust bagelssss!!!" I was seriously expecting/hoping for "These are... jelly donuts!!! D:"

I was thinking he imagined his sleeping friend (who for some reason passed out on a tree stump) as a pile of bagels, and just killed his friend.

I was like D:

My bro is six and he can already fly a space shuttle single handedly.

Just watched the first one. Technically yes, well done for a 17 year old.
The content however is just the kind of pretentious arthouse bullshittery I loathe.

Would you like some pie?...

...Why don't you likea my pies.

The second one was just painful to watch.
