Found this at Slashdot. Banning IGI 2 just wasn't enough for them.

The PC game, "Hearts of Iron", was accused of distorting historical facts in describing the Fascist regimes of Japan, Germany and Italy during World War II.

Moreover, "Manchuria", "West Xinjiang", and "Tibet" appeared as independent sovereign countries in the maps of the game. In addition, it even included China's Taiwan province as the territory of Japan at the beginning of the game.

"All these severely distort historical facts and violate China's gaming and Internet service regulations," the MOC said. "The game should be immediately prohibited."

Oh dear. Well, I'm sure everyone knows that Tibet has never been a sovereign country. China's government is so ****ing retarded that I want to stab myself in the eye with a fork. They actually have the audacity to keep clinging on to the illusion that they went to liberate/free/save/whatever Tibet. Everyone else on the planet knows the truth, but China is oblivious. I think it's time for a regime change over there, but I doubt the US is going to do it.
 
China did a good thing by banning IGI 2.
That game had barely any popularity until they generated some news by banning IGI 2-which wasn't that good anyways.

If the US tried to change China's regime, China would probably change ours instead :)
 
haha, I doubt the US would declare war on China (the closest thing to a super-power next to the US) over them disliking the historical facts presented in a video game.
 
China is basically a terrorist nation, and they have little knowledge about human rights.

Hahahahaha, I think one of our soldiers could probably take out about 100. Also, with our air superiority we would bomb almost all of their troops and armor and then roll in with mobile infantry and armor divisions.

Can you not distinguish between a government and a race of people? He is talking about China as in the communist People's Republic of China, not "CHINESE PEOPLE"

And yes, the government of China has done things that would be terrorism had they not been conducted by the government. (Tianenmen (sp?) Square)

A lot of people might call the American government a terrorist nation, due to the human rights abuses of America and the oppression of foreign powers, in their eyes?

Anyway, China is 100% within their rights if they want to ban the game and no one is going to change their minds unless the game is changed to be 100% accurate.

The issue that people have is that the Chinese government have a long history of banning stuff because it doesn't agree with their state-sponsored view of history. In this instance its just because a map indicated that those two areas were once not a part of China.
It's hardly anything new, but its just an example thats been turning up in the new lately.

So it is not a case of 100% accuracy interms of an historic point of view but a Chinese propaganda point of view?

If the chinese goverment didnt pump so much money into the US industrys in all likelyhood the US would be in a repression at the moment and when the US goes into repression you know whats gonna hapen to everyone elses economy :|
