China Launches Its First Piloted Spaceflight

um.......ok

edit: ohh thanks for the link, it helps

omg, they're gonna bring mechs, and turn the spacestation into Foundation III: Stellvia and have to get rid of a fracture in space, and then the series is gonna end, but not before shipon is on the radio and stuff!

...

"By the very fact that it is a space power, China already has set itself apart from most other nations, and certainly all the other Asian states," he said in a recent forum on China's space prowess."

The only way China has been able to set itself apart from most nations has been through human rights violations, communism (are they backwards or what?) and an illegal war againts Tibet. I hope the shuttle sinks into the ocean.

Took their bloody time didnt they lol :P Good work again on more random news :P

How ironic...

Hehe...
It is good to see some more action going on in the space arena.
Maybe give our program a good kick in the butt. But most of the reports I've heard on the Chinese program say that they're operating on a shoestring and some very bad stuff may happen.

Im going to go to space one day...Its something im really planning on doing, its one of my life goals.

Can you imagine, being weightless? It must be so weird. I mean, i could do that free falling in a plane thing but that is only for a short period of time. One thing ive always loved to do is swim, the freedom the water gives you is amazing, apart from the fact that water is a lot more dense so you cant move so fast. But being in space would give you that freedom without the resistance.

Well... the US is also a space power and have come to power by repeated violation of human rights. Only they mostly do it in other countries and with hired hands and agents as to not get their hands dirty.

Although this is besides the point i hope they use the power to do good. But knowing China, they will use it to gain more power.

Chinese soldiers on the moon?
The red square on the moon?

Mmmm,,, I'm so exited.

For some reason, my edited version seems more fitting :)

I think China would try to get more power from this, but the US would probably do something to keep them on top.

Thats what the USA have done since they got on top...What do you think NATO was made for?

Anyway, like i said. people like to be on top, and if they happen to be part of a larger group, then they want their group to be on top. Once they get a taste, it takes while for it to leave their systems. Take Britain for example; Britain was on top of the world and once they got their, they didn't want to leave but eventually we had to. Now then its really only the last couple of generations that have in fact gotten over it, and it left an after effect of cynicism and such....

Yup. The US has probably investigating this for some time. And they see the threat that this can be in the future. If you know yourself, you know most people too. The "Star Wars" project would not have come about had it not been for the entrance into space.

See the world as a house. It has walls with windows and curtains, sometimes. But it also has a glass roof. The one that control the skies above this house essentially controls that world. And can know everything about it. Information is power. The nation that has money to develop weapons to place into the skies above this world ... well... you know the rest.

Is the US going to allow a foreign power, a "Commie" power, step into the hall of the greats? Are we going to have a new cold war? I may be exaggerating. But ill bet ya` one thing. The US is looking into every aspect of this and are currently analyzing if this is a threat, or not.

.....any powerful nation has had those who abuse that power, big guy..not just the USA......

I hate it when people say ignorant shit like that.

Other nations venturing into space is an inevitability, and everyone knows it. So I doubt we'll be seeing any efforts to frustrate it anytime soon (weapons would be a different matter). Hell, civilians and private organizations are very close to doing it themselves (one X-Prize team were going to try before Dec but havge encountered a few delays).
And China isn't conquer-the-world-Cold-War-Russian-style communist. They're just using this as a national pride thing, just like th US way back when. A thumbs-up for their effort.

Well, its true isn't it? Well... ? Its not ignorant, its a fact. If you read history you will see this. And yes. Every major power abuses power. Thats a fact, and it has been going on since the beginning of time.

Its just not fair that the US, the biggest critic of Chinas dirty workings are doing very bad stuff itself. Its happening all over the world. The US is known for putting in dictatorships around the world that kill of their own people in the hundreds of thousands. "Its ok, just as long as we get the oil". Its not like you American kids learn all this shit in school now is it? What if this were Cuba that just popped up like a rabbit out of the hat and sent a manned space shuttle into space? In the US back yard? OH CRAP!

So no its not ignorant. Its informative. And i dont want to go into all the shit that China does. Or what the CCCP did. That is even worse.

And the US didn't explore space just because they would feel better about them self. They pooped their pants on the fact that the CCCP was gaining a big head start in the Space race, hence the arms race. of cource they could not let this happen. I'm glad the CCCP didn't. What a big cake of poop that would have been!

I just hope that China has good intentions. Peaceful intentions.

I really hope that China becomes very successful in their space program. Not because I like China but because it would kickstart the American Space program.

who cant find his own state on a map and owns 40 guns.... i go out on friday and shoot people for fun .....and then come home, turn on all the appliances in my house and start my car and leave it running just to waste gas an electricity......

then i go and cut down some trees and displace some wildlife becuase im bored.

yup im just your average american .......

This is not going to turn into an America bashing thread. In fact its not going to turn into any kind of flame war.

Stop now or it will be closed.

I really hate it when people think they know the truth about everything when really they are more ignorant than most other people. In this thread its about people bashing Americans.

No im not an American myself. I'm Canadian.

EDIT: There are too many threads that have already gone down the drain because members have started bashing the US. This thread was about China going into space, not whether the US is good or not.

China has so far gone to extremes to assure everyone that they have no intention of using spaceflight in any hostile manner.
And lets not get ahead of ourselves either, the first Chinese astronaut is STILL in space for the first time and we're worried about weapons.

A person who claims to have all the answers is likely a fool.

I don't think China will be putting weapons into space any time soon. But I hear they are planning to build a moon base by 2010 (among other things). That should certainly provide some competition for the US.

I don't think the US would like that at all, after all its an American flag there right now.

heheheh. Finally things are going to start getting interesting. I hope China is as invasive as it can be so that the US will finally get pissed off enough to start exploring the next frontier the way it was back in the 60's.

Actually, I believe that they want to LAND on the moon by 2010...not make a base there.

Where did you hear about a base? I only heard that they would get a man on there. But yeah, finally things are getting interesting. And on a side note: There are many inventions that we benefit from that came from the race towards the moon and that whole space race things. Computers would maybe not be where it is today had it not been because of this.

Think of what we might have in a few years of competitive space racing, the future looks bright. :)

Bunch of damn commie sons of bitchs.Hell I say we go back to the moon and make a base before they do.But hopefully they will turn to a democracy before that happens.

Huh? Tron? whatawhata? what do you mean? Refresh my memory.

The moon isn't real, its a giant 3 kilometer in diameter picture suspended up in the sky by the hooks in the ozone layer...
