BBC said:
Chinese investigators say activist Fu Xiancai, who was paralysed after a severe beating, inflicted the blows himself, according to a rights body.

Mr Fu, who campaigned for people displaced by the Three Gorges Dam, was beaten up returning home after he was summoned by police in Hubei province.

The June beating was so severe he is not expected to walk again, according to Human Rights in China (HRIC).

But an official investigation has ruled the attack was fabricated.

Officials told Mr Fu's son, Fu Bing, that investigators had failed to find anyone else's footprints at the scene of the attack, and had concluded that he must have hit himself.

HRIC said it was strongly concerned about the independence of the investigation, which was carried out by the same public security bureau that had a record of harassing Mr Fu.

 oh come on who's going to believe this crap? (numbers?)

Kind of like that woman who got beaten to death by police for handing out bibles on a street corner. :hmph:

Hahaha! Even though this isn't funny, its seems ludicrous to me that the Chinese authorities would give a story like this. How hard must it be to beat oneself up so badly that you paralyze yourself?? Come on...

HRIC...that's a laugh. :|

China are in desperate need of a revolution or at least a serious rethinking of their human right violations.

Beijing Olympics 2008 - I hope there is some kind of turning point. It will give Falungong members and other exiles the chance to really draw the world attentions to Chinas gross human rights record.

They were handing out free papers talking about the Falun Gong the other day outside the Metro. I started reading it and had no idea that it was that bad. I knew China was f*cked, but harvesting organs out of the living? That's beyond f*cked.

Either a turning point, or the 21st centuy's version of Berlin '36

Really? I was under the impression that they just harvested them from dead convicts. :|

that's exactley what I was thinking. I think it will be exactley like the "hitler olympics" of '36, where china will appear from the outside to love everything relating to the west and democracy, etc. They will hide all of their bad features for a year to attract tourists and news cams and stuff, and then will go right back to their atrocities once the press leaves.

Lol no, I don't believe in commie propaganda.
