The Chinese crab fishing boats near Yeonpyeong Island, a South Korean island in the Yellow sea and a point of maritime contention between the opposed Korea's have disappeared seemingly over night.
A good indication that there could be some naval skirmishing along the maritime boundary there.
Considering NK's actions of late and South Korea's current assertive and less appeasing attitude towards NK, any flare up of hostilities here could potentially be the spark the re-ignites the Korean war, and since NK's military is so shit, SK's good, and the world generally not happy with NK (and America adamant they don't get viable nuclear weaponry) this may be the best time to do it militarily.
Also with ol Kim closer to his deathbed then he may like, it may be a perfect opportunity to exploit splits within the NK regime.

Also, I had to smile at the quote by a 70 year old resident of Yeonpyeong.
"It's impossible to describe my hatred for those commie sons of bitches".
Hehe.
