The type 88 in BF2 is... made in korea.

The K1 (or Type 88) is a main battle tank in use with the South Korean ground forces. It was introduced to the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) in 1988, hence its name Type 88. It is manufactured by Hyundai Precision of South Korea.

The Type 88 is China’s second-generation indigenous main battle tank (MBT) developed from the Type 80 MBT prototype introduced in the early 1980s. The Type 88/80 was based on the first generation Type 59 and Type 69 MBT designs, but was upgraded with Western technologies, including a NATO standard 105mm rifled gun, British fire-control system, and German diesel engine. The tank only saw limited service with the PLA, and its technology was used to develop the more capable Type 85/96 series MBT.

The tank in BF2 is a Type 98 - the prototype of the deployed Type 99

Indeed it is, which still makes the Chinese tank unrealistic.

In BF2 China hardware is by far the best, both J-10 and Type98 rule the jet / tank categories respectively. In terms of guns though, MEC get's the nod with the nasty AK101 (especially on the medic :|). USMC get's shafted with just about the worst equipment, their lone saving grace, the Blackhawk miniguns... got nerfed into oblivion.

Are you kidding me? The Chinese get the AK47, which is basically a G3 with a 30 clip- its by far the best gun in the game.
And the M16, try it with single shot at distance, the recoil on that thing is non existant, very good accuracy and quite good power. I used it just last night to get 29-2 on Songua, mostly with that gun

The M16 I find is rather useless, if Im an American medic I always go with the G36e. The Ak's on the other hand, are excellent.

I prefer the AK101 myself... I just like the sound of it.

It sucks to wind up on USMC when you're ready to medic whore because you'll have to use the G36E. When on MEC or PLA I'll always go for the AK-101/AK-47, such awesome guns. I especially like the 47, great feel to it. 101 is a favorite too, so devastating.

I'm saying that it is completly unrealistic as our goverment would never sell our tanks to our 3rd enemy.
