A lot of Japanese manga and animation draws on christian themes, actually. In Japan, its seen as some kind of exotic, mysterious thing that animators throw in just to look cool. A very similar thing happens in American animation when animators reference Buddhism, Shinto or Taoism.

This, however, is designed for missionary purposes and is hilarious.

I have no idea what the difference is between anime and manga, so enlighten me. Never thought there was a difference tbh.

I have no clue myself. You and others would probably know more about this sort of thing than me. I never read manga and only occasionally I watch anime. Seldomly anymore actually. (Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, and I used to watch DBZ 24/7 back during my early years of high school) I know nothing about it really. I just came into this thread to see what Jesus looked like in anime form.

I thought this was going to be about that manga with the blue-haired chick who gets converted to Christianity. It was an internet joke for awhile; ended up spawning a lot of porn which got censored with "Whoops! Can't show that in a Christian manga!" What this is looks...infinitely more terrible.

personally I dont see the point in subverting a genre by creating work that's a watered down version of the original simply because it offends their sensibilities. More nefarious is that they're using manga as a gateway to christianity ..it's no different than taking a genre such as the gangster movie, cutting everything that is typical of gangster movies and injecting christianity into it instead ..can you imagine a christian verion of say Scarface? anyways I'm not one to say they cant produce these sort of comics however it is my right to ridicule them for it

I think its more "wow" than Gospel. Had alot of those manga dramatics with flashy backgrounds and pointing fingers.
