Chrono Trigger

So I felt like playing some old NES games and checking out some SNES games. I actually never owned a SNES, I went from a NES to an N64. Anyway so I downloaded a NES emulator and had some fun with Super Mario Bros. Then I remembered a lot of people talking highly of Chrono Trigger. So I checked it out.

Anyway I have to admit....It's pretty cool. I'm early in the game. I'm at the part after the teleporter incidient where they mixed up the queens and the girl dissapeared. Very neat story so far. My only question is, how did the inventor girl get into the castle?(Not that it would make a huge difference if she just talked to you outside of the castle).

She has the "Gate Key" which allows her to control the gates at the certain points in the worlds. So with that, you are now able to go back through the portal to the other times.

Just remember, you need to go to the Cathedral to the left of the castle. I had such a hard time with that part when I first played this game when I was a little kid...just helping someone out.

The game is one of my favorite games, and I personally think it's one of the best. It's an awesome game, with an awesome story, and a sequal worthy of it. Chrono Cross is awesome. When you beat Chrono Trigger, invest in the PSX game.

Well I was just curious with the inventor because they wont allow anyone(without special permission) into the castle. I understood how she got tot he time.

Game is unbelievable. I've probably beaten it well over 12 times. For that time there were several mini-quests you could choose to take up, and there are multiple endings as well.

I also really enjoyed Chrono Cross, the sequel, but didn't have as much a desire to replay it more than twice due to its complexity. Still, both are great games.

Quick Question.
I'm in the future, I past lab 16, now I beat the robot and just talked to the rat. He said hold L and R and press A. So I tried going to both consoles and holding L&R(A n Z) and pressing A(D). Nothing happens. Glitch in the rom?

I've never experienced a glick in the rom when I played....

Try moving around when you do it, I've found that is a big problem when I played the game.

And duh, she showed the guards her boobs, the end

Are you sure you're at the right terminal? I don't remember extremely well, but I believe it's the terminal in the area where the floor has a hole in it, and you can't climb down some ladder to proceed further, and you just stand in front of the terminal near that hole and do your thing.

Could be a glitch in the rom though, don't really know.

Could be an issue with your keyboard not allowing you to press 3 keys at once. Try binding both L and R to the same key.

Anyway now im by the robot the inventor just fixed. No problems, but I couldn't help resisting giving him a fun name!

This thread officially makes me want to open up my roms folder *since I Don't have a working SNES anymore, though I still have a working Chrono Trigger cartridge...* and play it again.

I remember, I was a newb, and thought Chrono Cross was just a remake of Chrono Trigger, but the amazing thing is: I borrowed it from a friend, who loved videogames almost/as much as I do. I was playing it, got about...1/2 way into the game before it was time for me to go back home *was visiting my mother*. He decided to just give the game to me. I was so freaking excited. I wonder if I ever would have bought the game if he didn't give it to me...

To this day though, I've never seen/gotten all the secret characters in CC

There are just so bloody many, it's hard to remember which ones to get, and you have to do a specific bunch of things to get em...I always mess up one or two things and thus scrap my entire game of getting that character. I think I've only gotten Glenn once...maybe.

PS anybody think Guile *http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/psx/cc/guile.shtml* and Magus *http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/ct/magus.shtml* are related in some way/shape/form?

*EDIT* and am I the only one who thinks both games in the series music kicks major ass?
