Chunky game play with uber video card?

now try and firgure this out,

my computer is a,
P4 2.4
2x 512meg ddr333 dual channel (1024 total)
radeon 9100 128 meg

default settings are all high
i left it that way

my dads computer is a,
p4 3.0
2x 256 pci2100 dual channel (512 total)
redeon 9600XT 128 meg

the default settings are meduim he pumped them to high

and guess what my slow computer runs a smooth 75fps
my dad gets choppy 60fps and chunks when he goes around corners and stuff.


my thinking is that i have more ram (but it slower) than his computer even though he has alot of high end stuff, ram is the choke point.

it will be brutal with minumal requirements (256meg)

you have no idea ... its unplayable when raising either texture or geometry quality over "low"
