I've searched this site to find similar problems re: Citadel, and load/stuck problems, but could not find the same problem encountered here... So I will post it.
I've seen people post about entering the pod/conveyor scripted sequence... I've then fought my way through the Citadel even further.
I get to a point in the map "d3_citadel_05.bsp" (verified by using console mode) where I've just killed a large 3-legged creature, and continue through a tunne, and am presented with a problem.
In a room, I have a blue energy field that is blocking me from going further that way, and there is a SECOND pod/conveyor system (the game AUTOSAVES HERE), jumping on it takes me through a second scripted sequence in the game. I get to a point where I'm headed upward through the citadel tower in the pod. It passes a portion of the rise through the tower where I can see the entire planet/city below through an opening in the tower. Shortly thereafter it speeds upward, the screen darkens, then flashes as if it's trying to load something. At that point it pops up a title for the next "Level/Sequence" or something of the game (I cannot recall the name). But then it quickly flashes white, and loads up "d3_citadel_05.bsp" right where the last save was made (at the base of the 2nd conveyor/pod)... Confused, as I have nowhere to go, I go back up the conveyor A SECOND TIME.
HERE is where the problem gets really interesting...
This second time it moves me up the conveyor, through the sequence, past the opened tower with a spectacular city view, speeds up again, the screen starts to darken like before, then I hear a "CLANG" sound like the conveyor hit something metal, and has come to a complete stop!!! There is no next level starting to load, just NOTHING. I can see the inner parts of the pod/conveyor, I can see the darkness around it, and I'm able to look around (completely stuck within the pod), but NO LEVEL LOADS!
I used the console to type "maps *" to list all maps, and it seems as though "d3_citadel_05.bsp" is the highest map within my maps directory or something!!! There doesn't seem to be a higher map to load to... :rolling:
How do I get beyond this point to the next level? How do I download the next level? STEAM and VALVE seem to be all but half-a$$ed in their service/support online, and you can forget reaching someone by phone from valve... It's not going to happen.
How do I fix this? Anybody?
