City of Ember - Wiki For the uninformed.

I just heard about this movie today when I saw a still of Bill Murray from this movie which lured me in since I am a fan. It looks to be another attempt at catching on to the children's fantasy franchise.

I was expecting something different when I clicked on the trailer but what was shown still pleased me. While i was watching the trailer it felt very similar to Bioshock and it seems to be a smidge of what the Bioshock movie could be. :naughty:

Color me curious I will be anticipating this film being released on blu ray since I avoid the orgy palace of a combined conglomerate of repugnant slide shows and clusters of hair purposely combed over their face boo-hoo walking sperm and egg concocted mistakes, i.e. the movie theater. :stare:
 
For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights. But Ember's once powerful generator is failing . . . and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Now, two teenagers in a race against time, must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city's existence, and help the citizens escape before the lights go out forever.

Sounds corny.

edit : Looks corny too, I don't really get any Bioshock vibes from it.
 
It didn't feel like Bioshock, bit it certainly had parts that looked fitting - the steamed up/dusty windows, streets, builings, run down areas, huge, gigantic pieces of machinary and equipment.

Looked pretty cool itself actually.

Looks cool in parts and then looks too kiddie in parts. Don't know about this one. Maybe it will be just campy enough....
 
It's based on the book of the same name.

and I mean, come on, it'll be dark. bfd. Enron did that shit all the time a few years ago.
 
If it's confirmed as the bioshock movie then please say so. Don't mislead everybody. I really hate misleading thread titles.:flame:
Checked out the wiki url, this movie and its books seem very interesting.

Holy shit I didn't think I had to be so literal. :bounce: The title was suppose to be misleading. :O

No this is not the Bioshock movie and I am not sure if I was misunderstood or but I did not say it was exactly like Bioshock. What I meant to say since I didn't clarify was that when I started watching the trailer I got a Bioshock vibe because of the whole secluded city aspect. By the time the trailer was over I realized that the people did not flee from normal society but rather they are the only society.

I would imagine this movie would be corny because after all it is a kid's movie. :sleep:

In case you didn't know, there is a bioshock movie in the works. So when you post a thread about a bioshock movie, of course we're going to assume it's THE bioshock movie.
 
City of Ember

This Movie is going to be awesome even if it is not an official bio-shock movie the idea is still there. I can?t wait for October 10th to see this movie! I love that Bill Murray is playing the villainous Mayor Cole!
