I was looking for something to read earlier, and realized I had never read my hometown's wiki page. It was mostly stuff I knew, but some I didn't, and just seeing it all laid out logically and thoroughly made me appreciate what a vibrant and interesting place I live in, although of course it has its problems:

Houston

Post and discuss your megalopolis/city/town/hamlet/lean-to.

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

I live in a cool place. Notable residents: Andy Griffith, James Taylor, John Edwards, Lewis Black, Thomas Wolfe, and ****ing K.A. Applegate (the woman who wrote Animorphs \o/)

My city is so bad; I'm not even going to bother posting it on here.

@mindless_moder - Atleast you have Playdium, I went there for my 7, 8 and 10 birthday. So much fun. :D

There's less than 2000 heads in the town where I live, so no wiki (and every statistics page about the town is really outdated). We were the host of a wayward Smew, which landed in our pond and attracted a lot of attention. Otherwise this area (not this town per se) is where a number of movies and commercials are filmed (Back to the Future III, Bad Girls, something with Madeline Stowe, etc).

Mountain Brook, Alabama

Mountain Brook is the hometown of M*A*S*H actor Wayne Rogers, Kate Jackson of the original Charlie's Angels, Bart Starr of the Packers, and Friends actress Courtney Cox. Mountain Brook was also home to Natalee Holloway, a 2005 high school graduate who disappeared on vacation in Aruba in a well-publicized missing persons case.

The racial makeup of the city was 98.64% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.65% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races.

You live in Chapel Hill?

I used to visit my aunt there when I was a kid, then she moved to VA.

Small world.

Yet again I underestimate the power of the internet. Don't believe my tiny hole of a town is actually on here...

Pretty sure Glaxo (or atleast the factory) was where they made the prop swords for the orcs in Lord of the Rings, too. At one stage they were even gonna convert the place into a paintball arena, which would have been AWESOME, but of course it never happened.

Edit - ****ing lol'd. My old school - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunnythorpe_School

Bunnythorpe?
