Classical

I love classical music with vocals, if that's a way to classify it. Like the first video. I have this christmas CD that has music in a similar style, this excellent chorus group singing all manner of songs, all old-styled and many I've never heard anywhere else, and the way it's recorded sounds very old and actually creepy. It's hauntingly beautiful.

This.

Also Beethoven's "Pathetique" and Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess" are two of my favourite tracks.

I'll be honest here. I can't get into much classical music. I can listen to it fine, but I hardly ever feel attached to it. Not to say that it doesn't have artistic merit, but I'm a melody/groove person myself, and I find it difficult to actually get into.
Maybe I'm just dumb.
However, classical music, especially when live, can be breathtaking - but it's the sudden refrains, the echoes of a previous melody, the rich, dissonant harmonies that I enjoy.
