When I got my Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse, it said on the box that it never required cleaning. Well, the wheel on the mouse feels like a car that's like 10,000 miles overdue for an oil change so I suspect the wheel at least does.

Any idea on how to clean it? Maybe I should get WD-40 and put it in there? Thanks for any help.

I've never had any problems with the wheels on any of my mice. I guess you should just grab a screwdriver and open it up. I don't think WD-40 would work, and it's probably not a good idea anyway... My guess is that there's hair and gunk stuck down in there, and WD-40 doesn't disolve hair, as far as I know.

Wash your hands before playing, and keep them out of your nose jk lol

Open it up, take the ball out, and clean the gook out with your finger... not a big deal.

I don't know. I wouldn't put WD-40 in there, only bad things can happen when you mix WD-40 with computer electronics.
