I noticed that a lot of you are having problems with completing last night's update.
It seems you've mostly forgotten that Valve have got an extensive customer help database that covers almost all issues you will have with Steam.
For future reference you can find that at: http://steampowered.custhelp.com
If you guys had entered the error message you've been getting when trying to run the game to get it to update into their search engine you would find this page.
This page gives a load of explanations as to why you might be getting this problem. I encountered the same problem and I solved it by following instruction five which is:
5. This might also happen if you have bad content in the GCF, you can verify the game content easily:
How can I verify that my GCF Cache files are good?
Following the above page will then take you to instructions on how to validate your GCF cache files.
You guys will need to click here to validate your Counter-Strike: Source cache files.
