this is so embarresing... CNN's translator, has translated "peacefull nuke activities" to "nuke bombs" for about 8 times in less than 20 mins... he actually translated ahmadinejad's words as:"everyone has the right to have nuke bombs...":D. this is a huge blunder for CNN... and so stupid, i wonder if it was a "mistake"...
again, the next blunder of the day award goes to BBC, for it's reporter, thought that if he would take his report next to a group of people that were protesting against iran's nuke activities, would be cool... this group of people were actually a small group of people that escaped from iran after the islamic revolution, their activities are forbidden in most countries, including the UK, but i guess both the britain's government and the BBC reporter forgot about that...
fox news' propeganda, having a "NUKE SCARE" program wasn't much better either... some people just won't take a hint...

ya fox"news" is well known for it's inaccuracy ..and cnn isnt much different. All in all they're all corporate entities (except bbc) yet I'm sure they slip in a comment that may be more editorializing than reporting every now and then.

Yep. And I am extremely pleased that Iran is not allowing any CNN people into the country..basically they're band from entering the country...I think that's an extremely smart move.

The BBC is by definition a corporation, and I expect better from them than this.

Actually I'm glad they did too, it draws negative attention to them and their ambitions, and increases western pressure. This issue can't be pussyfooted around, it needs to be addressed.

Meh. I use CNN to get current events for History n_n.

BBC isn't any better. I mostly use the newspaper for news now.

bbc is leaps and bounds ahead of cnn ..cnn in the last few years is little more than a mouthpiece for the government

Ah google news...where everythings grouped right together. Its great for comparitive analysis.

CNN sucks, but definately not for being a mouthpiece for the government- definately is not.

Ted Turner, owner of CNN.

EVERYONE should watch this video clip.
http://www.notablequotables.org/mrc/2005/Quote_of_the_Year/Turner/2005-09-19-CNNTSRTurner.wmv

Ted Turner: "I am absolutely convinced that the North Koreans are absolutely sincere. There’s really no reason for them to cheat [on nukes]....I looked them right in the eyes. And they looked like they meant the truth. You know, just because somebody’s done something wrong in the past doesn’t mean they can’t do right in the future or the present. That happens all the, all the time."
Wolf Blitzer: "But this is one of the most despotic regimes and Kim Jong-Il is one of the worst men on Earth. Isn’t that a fair assessment?"
Turner: "Well, I didn’t get to meet him, but he didn’t look — in the pictures that I’ve seen of him on CNN, he didn’t look too much different than most other people."
Blitzer: "But, look at the way, look at the way he’s, look at the way he’s treating his own people."
Turner: "Well, hey, listen. I saw a lot of people over there. They were thin and they were riding bicycles instead of driving in cars, but–"
Blitzer: "A lot of those people are starving."
Turner: "I didn’t see any, I didn’t see any brutality...."

yes it is, they all are

watch cnn for an hour (iraq/war on terror) then watch bbc or cbc. There's far too many "a day in the life of a US soldier" stories and not enough reporting of what actually goes on as compared to bbc. When the downing street memos news story broke it was completely ignored by american media. Even tradionally respectable news organizations like the ny times and the washington post heavily editorialize the war especially during the build up to invasion.

They're probably told to.

not necessarily by the pentagon or bush etc they're publically traded entities they answer to their shareholders and their parent companies.

A good point, but still not as bad as CNN's - shall we say - mistranslation...

Ahh ted turner...funny guy. The guy that wants to bring a bunch of grizzly bears into their non native habitat because he likes them. Not to mention he would release them on his property which is right next to a boy scout camp. Grizzly bears generally aren't too friendly.

actually, it is. you know how stupid it is to take a report beside a group of people that their actions are illegal in the country? technically, that's like taking a report next to bin laden... i'm surprised why the british government isn't doing anything about them... they are called terrorists and so is bin laden, how come when this group of terrorist comes out with a pahlavi regime flag and starts flaming iran, they don't do anything, but if it was anyother person called a terrorist, they would? you know how many people this group has killed in iran after the islamic revolution? but it seems like when it comes to flaming iran, no one cares...
