The part of the game where you are in Chernobyl is not only historically inaccurate but also just obviously inaccurate.

For starters:
IT NEVER HAPPENED!

But also the guns that are recieveable in that mission and the dates that they came into production are below:

M21 - 1969
USP .45 - 1993
P90 - 1993
AK-47 - 1947
AK-74u - 1974
Dragonuv - 1964
G3 -1964
RPD - 1944
MP5 - 1966

Now you might be wondering why I have put two dates in bold...well as we all know Call of Duty 4 was released on the 6th of November 2007 and in the game on ''All Ghilled Up'' (The Chernobyl mission). When you start this mission it says 15 years ago.

2007-15 = 1992 (This mission was in 1992)

Now those dates both are 1993! With this I can conclude that this is inaccurate but it's still the best mission on the game.

well shit, I'm never gonna buy this game now.

So... all the battles fought in the middle east were real?

There is no definite date given, but it sure as hell ain't 2007.

Especially not since the mercs use modern laptops in Chernobyl.

Well.

It looks like I'll have to kill myself now since I can no longer enjoy Call of Duty 4 for its realism.

Goodbye cruel world

For a more historically accurate gaming experience I suggest the Pirates, Vikings and Knights modification for Half-Life 2

1. You forgot the G36, which didn't appear until 1995. And the version in game, the G36C didn't go into production until 2001.

2. The AKS-74U was introduced in 1979, not 1974.

3. Its definetly not in 2007.

4. Its a mother ****ing psudorealsitic game. You can recover from bullet wounds by breathing heavily and you're worried about when weapons came into production?

But while we're here, hey, lets go for it.

1. The Russian Special Forces are using AK-47s. The '47 was replaced by the AKM in 1959 and then the 7.62x39mm round was phased out completly with the introduction of the AK-74 in 1974.

2. The AKS-74U looks nothing like an AKS-74U. It appears to be modelled off the "AK-47 Spetsnaz" that has been made by airsoft companies.

3. The M16A4 uses the M203 heat shield when the grenade launcher is installed. It doesn't do this IRL because of the RIS mounted on the weapon so there is no need to attach the GL directly to the barrel unlike on earlier models.

4. To mount the red dot sight on the P90 (and probably a couple of other guns) they put an acessory rail on an accessory rail.

5. Both the AK variants have the correct side rail type sight mount. But niether actually have the side rail on thier reciever.

6. The RPD went out of Soviet/Russian service in the 1960s, being replaced by the RPK.

7. The M60E4 is actually an M60E3

8. The Javelin can only lock onto tanks. The real deal can track a human's heat signature.

And there are many more issues besides.

However, this is not Armed Assault or Operation Flash Point. Its psudo realism, like Counter Strike or the newer Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 games.

So get the sand out of your vagina and start having fun blowing holes in people with all those anachronistic, poorly modeled or just plain wrong weapons.:flame:
