CoD4 Xbox Live Mute Help

so I was playing xbox live one day when all of a sudden, everyone on my team and on the other team is muted and this feature is stuck like that for the past 2 weeks now. I checked the voice blade and the mute feature isn't checked, I tried quick unmute and that didn't seem to work... Help HL2.net! Help me!

Try clearing your cache?
Go to the system blade and then select memory.

Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

I had the same thing happen for 2 days. It eventually went away on its own.
