Stormregion has released a demo for the latest installment in their reasonably successful series. The first Panzers could be described as the proto version of Company of Heroes. It was one of the first RTS games that featured a destructible environment and it focused more on tactical gameplay, in the sense that there wasn't any base building. The episodes that followed were based on the same mold, so the series didn't really evolve. Hopefully Cold War will change that pattern. Get the demo here.

Yeh, the gameplay is a bit outdated. Most of the mission was just moving your blob of units from A to B. It could have done with a cover system a la CoH as well. And more armor would have been indeed nice. It looked pretty sweet though. Smoke is very well done, pyrotechnics looked good as well. Environments were ok, the units themselves just a tad too small for my liking. Worth the download if you're in the mood for a rts.

Not really impressed.

It felt like they'd put in the very minimum of effort in getting the game changed over from WWII to a hypothetical WWIII, with virtually all the infantry units having WWII weapons while there are T-62s going about.

Cuban Missile Crisis: The Aftermath and World in Conflict provide much better WWIII styled fun.
