The Good News: I've been programming for 25 years and have used most languages you have heard of. Also, I have a Ph.D. in mathematics, study and design algorithms for a living, learn quickly, and play well with others.

The Bad News: I'm new to game programming. I've only just started playing with the HL SDK to find out how this modding business works.

The Goal: To find a solid, serious project and modding team who could ease my transition into modding in exchange for quality code and creative algorithmic solutions.

The Caveat: I'm only interested in becoming involved with a solid project. No vague ideas, thank you.

If i was more prepared with my mod, I'd probably consider asking you to join, but at the moment I still have many things to do before taking on members. :(

Do you have any work or proof of some sort of your eperience so we don't have to guess if you are speaking the truth or not?..

Sr, please give out your E-mail adrres so we can contact you, thank you.
If not, please, just send me a note to : [email protected] for futher contact.

Due to my game programming inexperience I seek a modding team which already has experienced coders from whom I can initially learn.

If you have a project in which you think I might be interested, please include information about your coding subteam.

Again, I offer extensive, general programming experience but require startup assistance from experienced coders on the team.

I am also part of a team with, currently, four programmers. Many of them have expirience with the HL1 SDK, and can easily help you there. The site we have set up right now is http://www.kingdomlost.net . We also have two IRC channels set up at #kingdomlost on quakenet, and another, private team channel you are welcome to join upon request. For more info, please contact me at [email protected] . Feel free to join our forums, we'd be glad to give you temporary access to our private forums pending your decision to join the team. :)

PS: I would consider ourselves a solid mod, with at least 4 skinned models out, four musical scores, a site, and active forums.

AntiAntiCamper -

I am a former game developer, with 9 years professional experience, now currently working in feature film in a technical animation position. I have published 11 titles on every console from SNES up to Xbox and PS2. I have some experience programming, mostly tools for game develpment, but I do understand game programming and the intricacies of development and could be of assistance to you. I have a solid idea for a mod that will be fairly easy to implement. I guarantee you it's much more possible, a rapid departure from every other mod I've seen mentioned, and is doable with a very small team (possibly just you and I). Most of all it will be a fun diversion for all sorts of players. I'm looking for someone solid who wants to see this through. If you are interested in hearing more, contact me at [email protected]. That's a real email btw, using it just incase it gets harvested off this board. :)

If any of your questions about coding goes outside of my scope, I have a friend who will not be working on the mod we can go to for help. He's a brilliant former Atari and SEGA programmer with nearly 20 years professional experience making games and a love for Halflife. He's currently working fulltime on a PS2 title and has no free time for mod making.

Just wanted to add, if things get really difficult, I currently have an in to a programmer at Valve.
