I won't link the video cause it might offend someone but if you want

google "Mafia killing in Italy caught on camera"

I'd like to debate on how easy someones life can end (also existentialism consequently). It's just funny how we bitch about menial things in life failing to realize how quickly everything can come to a quick end. The modern man is so far removed from death, i'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Listening to some cocky 15 y.o.'s how they killed an X number of people in GTA today or some other shitty game, really pisses me off sometimes.
I think modern lifestyle is making people arrogant. I know that most kids can tell reality from fantasy, but their sheer apathy and indifference to death/killing is quite astounding at times.

I can't say i'm a saint myself, but i really do think that the cultural difference between parents and kids today is extremely more wide than it was 50 years ago.
I'd love some parent input here...you know who am i looking at! :)

Oh and do you thing the way this young generation is being brought up will lead to less or more violent crimes?

I think people are just enjoying the fact that they don't have to worry about something like that. Sure it isn't absolute safety, but most people in the western world don't have to think about the reality of death.

I saw the video. It does make you think how technically easy it is. However I think we would be very miserable if we thought about this too much and there's no point really. Bitching about menial things may help us deal with them or comfort ourselves when someone can relate to our situation. Thinking about the fact that we may die any second doesn't really accomplish anything, certainly not more than bitching about stuff.

Most people don't want to die obviously, but that's life, people die all the time; it's natural and omnipresent so we're desensitised to it.

Its already significantly less than its ever been

jverne's advice of the day: The Mafia kill random people, and you should be grateful because of it.

Man I didn't even read the thread, though I suppose jverne's point, whatever it was, has crossed my mind at one point or another.

Now to deal with this "Where do I get a gas mask to turn into a bong?" Conundrum.

Did you know apathy is the common precursor of failure for many lost civilizations? Study ancient Rome's history and you'll know what I mean.

...but yeah, kids these days are a bunch of spoiled rotten punk @$$ *****es.

welcome to the third world

where things like that happens around 30 times a day

and if you are lucky you may not end in one

Here in the west all you have to do is buy the crazy guy at work candy bars every once in a while and you're free from the blood bath!
