Anyone else got this game?

It's really cool in my opinion, I simply love the atmosphere.

For those unaware of what this is, it's basically a survival horror third person shooter set on a huge whale ship. Except for the controls being abit console-ish, the game is great, the graphics are pretty good and I really like the effects and animations. I particularly like the whole idea of being a coast guardsman investigating a huge ship in a storm, the effects when you're wandering around outside are amazing with huge waves splashing all over the deck creating "drops on the camera" effects, while your character is struggling to keep himself standing.

How are the loading times in the game?

I saw a video on it played on Playstation 2... And the loading times seemed to be very disturbing.
Run into a room *LOADING*, run into another room *LOADING*, fight an enemy, kill it then run into a new room *LOADING*, and even more disturbing was that the loading times lasted about 10-15 seconds... Bah, I can't stand when it's like that, especially NOT on consoles.

@loke: that's ps2, xbox is much better, apparently.

Yeah, there are short stops when you go between rooms but the loading times are really fast for me, around 1-2 seconds at most, it doesn't disturb you at all. Also, everytime you check a new room you're generally "done" with the current area so things are calm and slowpaced when you go into a room.

Though I can understand it's a pain in the neck if it's 10-15 seconds between every stop..

I have to say, while I prepared and uploaded these screenshots, I noticed how dull it looks on still pictures. In the game everything is moving, there's tons of rain and wind effects, even the sky is alive, there's occasional lightning and constant gigantic waves.

Yeah it's definitely scary, not really something to play at night if you're easily frightened.

I hope so, the ship/oil rig isolation should definatley have a better atmosphere than a research facility...hopefully.

Well, it's hard to say..

First of all, Doom 3 is a bigass multimilliondollar AAA game while this is not. It's also got clear consoletraits much like Resident Evil and Silent Hill etc, but in all honesty, if you look past the flaws I think you'll really enjoy this game. I was very unsure about it when I first kicked the game up, but later on it turns out the rough clam contains a pearl.

About the atmosphere, YES, the atmosphere is miles better than Doom 3's. It's like being part of a movie, I really like the character Tom Hansen.
And about what Samon said, the feeling of being isolated on a ship astray in a storm, as something extremely unusual is going on, is great. The action sequences are good, but what I really love are the silent parts between, when you slowly wander into unexplored areas while the storm is hammering outside, every clank or sudden noise in the ship makes you jump, and you're not sure if that wailing sound you hear is the ice cold wind or the mumbling of a monster...

It's got parts where you almost feel sheer terror (don't get me started on areas where almost all the lights are out), but in general it's got a pleasant sense of excitement and suspense, not too scary but just enough to keep you at the edge of your seat.

I'm probably overhyping this game ALOT, but I simply think the whole idea is fresh and fun. The areas are well-designed, I have to say the rusty innards of a whaler ship is definitely more fun and scary than a Mars base.

If you like Resident Evil and the likes, I think you should at least try it out.
