I don't know what you guys are talking about? The t-shirt is OK, it's not terrible, I mean come on! it's fruit of the loom!!!!11

Secondly, the DVD works absolutely fine on my computer so stfu.

Thirdly, we get Half Life source and cs source. The only terrible thing about the CE is that shitty little book, I mean wtf is that? I opened the CE and that's what I find, I feel like burning it!

It makes me sad, compared to like my Warcraft 3 collectors edition, got it for $30, or my Neverwinter Nights CE, soo much cool stuff, that was only like $60. The HL2 CE is such a blatant ripoff I feel like such a fool for giving in and buying it.

Getting it on DVD = cool
Getting the 2 Source games = cool (they could have thrown in DoD when it's released though)
T-shirt sucks when you are considerably NOT XL.

I would have preferred the hat that the gold users get.

Biggest whinge is not being able to upgrade to gold and the fact I need to leave the CD in to play.

I Got the CE just for the dvd. So im not disappointed.

i'm really pissed after seeing this on this forum after a little search:

http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=11142&mid=325016

Second, the DVD is iight, i just wish there was a legit way to play without the DVD now... gotta wait for patch i guess

third, the price isn't too bad if you think about it like 20 bucks for HLsource and 10 bucks for the tee..
I actually like the tee, although i dont know if id actually wear it..lol

fourth, valve should offer something to those who bought the retail ce to get dodsource and maybe even the extra posters/hat/guide for a small fee or something...

anyone know where we can send angry emails/letters to about the HL2CE?

I was contemplating angry letters too. HL Source is in no way worth 20$. Silver on steam gets you HL Source, and the whole back catalogue, and DoD Source, for 10$ more. No way you can justify 20$ for HL Source.

i just say its kinda okay, since i was never able to buy/play through the whole first half life since i've been computing on laptops ever since 2000 and only played bits here and there on friends computers. lucky my MR9800 Dell 9100 can handle the great games that just came out very well.

i do hope valve releases some patch so that retail people are able to play without the cds/dvd..no turning back now though, game was authenticated already

yeah i just got the CE. i was really hoping for a metal box, too. its a collector's edition, come on valve! i also feel like burning it. Or at least the box. i guess these t-shirts aren't so bad. they're kina plain (they have the hl2 logo and that's it).

this little prima book is ok, i mean, i dont need the stupid strategy guide, but some of the concept art is kind of cool. but then it sucks once i realize that this CE is a ripoff. its nice having one DvD, and having hl2 alone is cool :)

but still... yeah, if anyone can find an email address, i would write valve about it. prolly just ask if they could include DoD source.

im such a fool... that thing was 80 dollars... what a fool i am

seriously the box maybe just cardboard but hey, i'ts still the nicest cardboard box ever. i'm not disappointed with it at all, as long as you keep the other box in it it won't get messed up. i agree though that the tin can is better, but not if that would have meant getting the game a month later :D

Didn't you guys get the Half-Life 1: Source with your CE edition??? We got it with the Aussie release. I was happy about that aspect :)

Someone asked for a photo of the Collector's Edition.

I know someone put a link up, but this way saves screwing around with other sites.

I've still got my original 'Half-Life' tee from the Generation pack. (Half-Life GOTY + Opposing Force only, when PC games were still in huge cardboard boxes... ah... memories)

I've never worn it being an XL and me being only being a medium now, plus if my physics teacher (damn... I was actually in school back then) saw me he'd probably have commented on how Half-Life was refering to the "degradation period of radioactive material" or something.

I don't think you can blame games companies for making the tees XL's. Afterall, the stereotypes for gamers are: Skinny little geek (like me), or huge middle-aged geek with beard. (No offence to anyone but we are what we are) It wouldn't be cost effective to produce more than one size.

Friday, 10 December

Atleast that's what GAME e-mailed everyone who had it pre-ordered when it was advertised as 16-Nov.

meh, in the end its all good, cuz i got hl2. the thing is, i cant play it cuz my dvd drive has gone screwy. :(

ive had hl2 for a week and havent been able to play it. does anyone know how MUCH TORTURE THAT IS???

I think torture might me a little melodramatic.

'Exceptionally annoying'... yes.
