colorless props???

hi peeps, I've got a problem with props not showing any color, and they are clearly visible in areas with no lighting. I've done a reinstall of HL2 thinking it would fix it, but nope. anyone have ideas of what would cause this?

Custom mod or Half-Life 2 map? Are all the files in the right places?

Have you run cubemaps in your map after compiling it?

1. just plain old half- life 2. no mods in project. 2. All files are in the right place as this is a fresh Install. 3. I've not done the cubemaps thing, I'm looking into exactly what it is, sorry still new to mapping.

Crispy, thanks you... buildcubemaps worked! But, is there a certain amount you need in any given area?
