I've been drawing comics lately, and have been thinking about starting them into a webcomic, maybe. Figured I'd post it here, see what responses I get.
Here they are:
1-1

1-2

1-3

1-4

1-5

1-6

I'm drawing them as stick figures (I can draw much better) for a few reasons.
1) The characters are throw-away, because they lack detail, and you can't really distinguish them from one another.
2) The violence is less violent.

Well...What do you guys think?

It's more a of a side-project, to do something 'lighter' than White.

You really need to improve your drawing if you want it to be attractive. The third one was funny, but I had to read the end before knowing what was in the hand of the guy.

I could easily draw them better. I normally do draw better. I said why I didn't want to draw them good. I didn't want to bother with characters, or plot development, or having to bother with realism in the first three strips.

Some are pretty original. Others, not so much. The random ones aren't as fun as they once were. Two of the comics play on the same style of joke. Just some crits.

The art could afford to be a bit better. Simple != Bad

You can still draw them good if they are simple. For example, not having them magically change proportions or shape.

Ditto. Try drawing simple characters, but somewhat with original shapes.

Hmm. Okay. Yeah, I know that the third and fourth comic use the same kind of joke (swallowing the turtle and the goat), so I'd probably only use one. As for the random-factor...Like the guy setting the other on fire?

I guess with the drawings, I was influenced by comics like White Ninja, where the drawings do change proportion. However, another factor was that I drew them all in one sitting, I hadn't eaten, and my arm was getting shaky. I didn't want to redraw them, but I probably should. For instance, look at the speech bubble in the last frame of the last comic. It's jaggy as hell, instead of straight.

Thanks for the crticisms, I'll take them into account, and work on redrawing them. Also, I might take the frame borders out, and just use hand-drawn borders, to go along with the same style.

Or I might redraw them all completely, and go with another art style than charcoal.

They're kinda funny. At least have them stay in the same shape/size/scale as the last frame.

Its not bad. But i think it needs a bit more "content" as one might say. I admire the fact that u kept them all the same size for each frame but pls add more detail or maybe colour it. But its not bad as a starter.

You did this with a mouse? Not talking about the quality, just wondering because you said your arm was getting shaky.

WaterMelon i don't think he did it on comp....cus he mentions charcoal. But meh i may be wrong

It was a charcoal brush, not actual charcoal

How much was the Charcoal Brush???
rofl... Sorry but that's really funny.

He just said he did it with the mouse. The charcoal brush he is referring to is a brush in some paint program.

According to your avatar, you must like Ctrl Alt Delete.

...

Please don't make a webcomic.

You seem pretty adament about that. Why?

I like 1-1 the best, just has the best joke I think. lmao, 1-4 not bad either.

Your series are ok. You get three Munros out of five.

What, about Ctrl Alt Del? Because its a blatent unfunny ripoff of Penny Arcade in every aspect: video games, drawing style, jokes, characters, skits with in-game characters and game developers and companies, and all sorts of stuff. Twisp & Catsby = that dumbass chef and the tomato crap. The only difference is the lack of funny.

As for your webcomic, it just didn't make me laugh. Like, the third one almost made me smile inside my head, but that was about it. Making better drawings would even make them less funny, too, cuz it would seem like a waste of time for a dumb joke.

But meh, if other people like it, then whatever.

Oh, and the fourth one could be a lot funnier if it just didn't have the last one or two frames. I think everybody gets it by then.

Oh, okay.

The first 4 all made me smirk, the other 2 weren't very witty.

It's pretty good actually, and I don't get how it's simular to CTRL+ALT+DEL. There weren't any real gamer jokes, there was a lot of random violence (More-so than ctrlaltdel) and it was pretty random. While the Chef does that, so do hundreds of other people. You would have a point if the lines were identical or of the same structure, but the only simularity is simular outlines in the joke. But you know- all jokes are simular in some ways.
Improve the graphics a bit and continue with the humor. (Id say just add color and a backround, the charactars are charming as the same type, gives it a certain taste.)

for reasons on not to do a webcomic: there are already so many out there that are middlin' at best, not to mention all the ones like this.

as we can see, you've only drawn a couple strips here and the humour is already deteriorating by the end of them.
and you might want to check out some books or summat on making comics, so you can get some sense of composition and use some speech bubbles that help your charachters expressify.
and even if you get out a comic with great jokes and artistry, i will dry up like the perry bible fellowsip did.

I thought they were funnier than any of the other user submitted comics i've seen here. Good job

I didn't really see the comparison to Ctrl+Alt+Del, either, CookieCuttah. I'm going to redraw them, and keep them in proportion. I originally drew them like that, with shapes changing, to give it a certain feel of...I'm not sure what. I guess kind of the same expression that Home Movies, on Adult Swim, gives, with the Squigglevision, or Ed Edd n Eddy on Cartoon Network. Also, the comics wouldn't go in that order, so it's more spread out. Towards the end, I decided not to go with the random violence anymore, and try and use another type of humour. But I would kind of evenly distribute them, so that it's an even mix.

Crabonhead, I see what you mean by the humour deteriorating. The one about the goat, and the one about the turtle have a lot in common. I'll probably get rid of one of them. Which one should it be?
Also, what do you mean about the speech bubbles?

And, thanks, Ikerous.

I didn't compare it to Ctrl Alt Del. Your avatar is Ctrl Alt Del. That's what I was commenting on. :|

I just hate CAD. With a passion. I'm sorry.

Looks to much like Don Hertzfeldt work. :/
