I remember seeing some people a few weeks ago complaining about how they couldnt alt-tab quickly from TF2 to do whatever it is they do.

The Heavy update included a new launch command that can act as a work around, all you need to do is run the game in a window at the same resolution as your desktop, then add the command -noborder to the TF2 launch options in steam.

Obviously it all comes down to how well your PC can run the game at those settings, but the game will appear to be running fullscreen as usual, but with the added bonus of providing instant access to other windows.

Just thought I would add it here for anyone who wants to try it.

I've been hoping they'd integrate this for a while, I had no idea they chucked it in with the Heavy update :D C'est super cool.

I am using it right now (tf2 is changing lvl so me writing this comment :D )
and it's awesome!
thx for posting this :)

Sweet, thanks. Alt-tab is such a habit that I usually use it before I realize what I've done. I'll then return to the game, finding my character patiently waiting at the spawn point.

I added this to my launch options last night, then totally forgot to try an alt-tab.

Yes it does, more so if you are running Aero. However the performance drop is minor, PCs that can run TF2 fine, should be fine.
