Command Prompt Replacement

I was wondering if there is a Windows XP Command Prompt replacement.

I absolutely hate XP Command Prompt due to people having bad coding habits. Due to this the application closes as soon as it is done what it has to, so lets say, 1 second.

as a stop gap you can just edit the batch file and add pause to the end.

do start > run > cmd.exe

then run whatever command line app you're trying to run, and it doesn't close when it's done.
