Commander questions

played as the commander for the first time last night ...on my first round I got 28 kills 1 death (bastard snuck up on me) ...and never fired a weapon :O ...thought that was pretty good

have a few questions:

how do you know how well you're doing? I mean I cant tell if I'm killing teamates or enemies half the time

how do you get points? ...I mean I know it's calculated based on team score but if I'm commander and I also run around capturing flags etc ..do I get those points? ...so at the end of the round ..is it: score accumalted during play + teamate average + if you win the round you get x 2

can I lay way points for squads? it would be great if I could lay out a path for them ..example ..take flag A then go to flag B

to repair radar and uav do I just drop a supply crate?

1. hmmm but there's no message that says .."you killed so and so"

2. so that's a bit of a cheat ..sort of ...if I'm commander and I dont actually command I'll still get points ...so whatever my average is during game play I'll add the commander points at the end of the round ....even though I didnt actually do anything as a commander

3. it would be a good idea ...save on micro managing

1) It appears at the top, CptStern[TeamKills]MrXYZ, or you can see when teamwork points are in the -'s

2) Nope, you don't get points for capping flags or for reviving etc. Kills with a gun are added to the kills you get with arty.

3) No, can't waypoint (may be added later, who knows)

4) If you stay in your main base you may aswell go Engi to repair them yourself instead of wasting supply crates

1) ah, the Commander screen itself with TAB? Well then you know the box bottom left corner? Should appear there (not 100% certain though)

In the full BF2 game, do the people still piss around and not get in squads?
I was playing the demo, as a commander, telling people to get in squads over and over again,
they just piss around in planes and helicopters though, I wish I could find a server for the demo where people are playing properly.

I mostly play on EA UK Ranked servers, and the large majority of players usually squad up, which is definitely a good thing to see.

i hate how bastards that cant fly try to learn how to fly ingame, like the other day i was a gunner in the USMC attack helo and this guy tryed to do a barrel role but couldnt figure out how to make us level again. and it depends on what server you go to.

I've gotten up to 9 consecutive backflips in the blackhawk, or 7 corkscrews! It's quite fun actually, but you need to be quite a good pilot.

i have been practicing and i have been able to get a few barrel roles in a row, hold the helo so steady that you could do anything that you have to stand still (couldnt think of something that you have to stand still), and come in at a 15 degree angle and land, i have been getting really good lately...

Hmm, I've got a few questions not answered there.

a) does the big scan reveal enemies the the your whole team, or just the commander?

b) and what happens when you select 'divide squad'? (here)

a) Nope, only reveals em to you the commander, you must spot them (right click on the dots) for your team to see them

b) never tried this, guess the squad decides what to do

I doubt this very much... I've gotten 4 on the best attempts...although that was with a mouse.
