Do you have XFIRE?

Take it off it's border line spyware and in some cases likes to play with steams connection, making connections impossible.​

Also running this program after a bout of spyware or removing XFIRE is a good idea.​

Do you have AOL 7.0 and having troubles to connect to steam? winsock errors?

Upgrade to AOL 9.0 this will fix the problems.​

Do you have surround sound issues?

If you have a realtek onboard sound card the newest drivers seem to have issues with HL2 and wont work with surround sound, the only way to fix this is use the 3.63 drivers.
