Has anyone seen these ATI ads featuring Half-Life 2 in them? I find it interesting that they were supposed to be released at the same time as Half-Life 2.
If you read the teeny-weeny text on the ad, you see that it says "ATI Radeon... NVIDIA GeForce... tested on a Pentium 4-3.2 GHz...", which begs the question on what did they test it on? The use of the past-tense devoid of a noun probably denonates that they mean Half-Life 2. But as we all know, there is/was no Half-Life 2 to test any cards on.
To get to the point, no ATI didn't steal anything; I'm just saying that they're probably very flissed at the delay. Wasn't the shipping of their new card delayed along with Half-Life 2? They probably replaced what should have been the CD with the coupon. Lord knows how much that costed! 1. Get an advertisement company to design the coupon, 2. Print them, 3. Redesign the box to feature the coupon; not the full game, ect. What if they already made a deal with a factory to create/print the CDs??
On another note, how many publishers did Valve have to go through who wouldn't accept shipping. Wasn't it several (I really can't remember the story, so don't flame me!)? Vivendi is probably reconsidering their deal with Valve, since not even they know when Half-Life 2 is going to ship.
Bottom line: How many company's are hurt finacially and/or angered by these sudden and "unexpected" delays?
Discuss!
