Ok. I have a project to compare both the Windows OS and Linux OS for use as a consumer Media center. When I say Media center, I mean as in, Video, Audio, Digital Cameras, Photo Editing, Video Editing, Gaming, DVD Play back, DVD Creation and Gaming. It has to be thourougly in depth, comparing the architecture of both, to prove which one is better, support for different codecs, different applications and such.

I have an idea of what I can do, but Im wondering if anyone else has any ideas.

Windows.

From what I can tell, Linux is a very developer-baised OS, and thus lacks user-friendly capabilities which allows quicker and easier access to media files and options.

Honestly I've never dealt with Linux, but so far I've heard that, unless you want to spend 5 hours writing your own fixes and drivers for programs, you should avoid it.

Windows is such an easy interface to deal with Media, as well as more often supported by game developers in general. You're looking for input and output for video, of which are easily done by various programs written specifically for Windows.

In terms of speed, well, I don't know. But I figure Windows is probably still faster.

Just be normal and use windows
better program support, adn wider range of programs avaliable
