Theres more than one alleyway, so I dont know where youre talking about. Just look around and you should be able to find out where to go.

And the default key to open a door is 'e', if it dont work then youre not supposed to go through that door.

And in reference to the original question - I think I know where you're at. There's a guard in front of it, right? The door isn't supposed to be open. Turn right down the street, and on your right there will eventually be a dumpster. Jump up on it and climb up the ladder above it. Hope this helps.
