Complex water brushes - drawbacks?

Hey team,

I have a question about using multiple brushes to make up a water filled area.

Basically - the area I need to have water in is a 'T' shape with lots of little alcoves and small ducts running off it. Now, i get the impression that a water (indeed any) brush intersecting with other brushes can be problematic.. so the question is, are there any drawbacks or tricks that need to be applied when using multiple (odd shaped) brushes to make up the surface area of the water?

Or, conversely, am I totally on the wrong track and should I just bung one dirty great brush slicing (intersecting) through the whole area and use that as the water surface.. the idea gives me shudders, but.. I dunno.. that's why I'm asking.

Thanks,

BSP will break an intersecting water brush up into the shapes required to fit the right area. It won't do it elegantly, though. You're best off doing it yourself in chunks.

ok - so the engine will see 'touching' brushes with the water texture on top as one continuous body of water - sweet, thanks man.

Yeah but bear in mind that the line where two water brushes meet can show up and look silly when lights and cubemaps are built...i had problems with that in my map and had to put a bloody big pipe across the seam to cover it up :(

That's odd. I used loads of seperate brushes on Watergate, and had no visible seams.
