My computer crashed a few days ago. When I try to boot it up it says "An important file is missing C:/Windows/Files/Config/Sys" and that I should "try to repair it with the windows recovery cd," problem is, I can't find it. My computer is a dell, and the warranty has expired. So, if anyone here has/had a dell and know how to solve this problem I would appreciate it. Is there a way I could download the files somewhere? Meh, I'm screwed.

Should be in hardware/software, and yes, you're screwed.

Turn off your computer and make sure it powers down. Throw it in a 33 foot hole in the ground. Fill it in completely, rocks and boulders should be fine, then burn any clothes you may have worn at any time.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Find someone who is good with computers and pay them with sex to repair it.

Download a windows cd repaird image onto the comp your using now. Burn it to a CD.

Thats the easiest way.

all you need is to download the sys file from the internet, google it.

put it on floppy, boot in ms-dos mod, and upload it to your hard drive,

it sounds easy, but no its harder than you think, you need to search it on google,

thanks for the suggestions so far. But when I try to boot a cd from it, it says "boot device not available." Also, how do I boot my computer into msdos mode?
