So my PC is fairly new. Nothing on it is older than January, 'cept the sound card.
Nothing out of the ordinary since I've been running it, an why should there be?
I tell you there shouldn't, but when I pressed the power button to turn it on today, nothing happened.
I thought maybe I had hit reset. Nope. I hit power again and it got juice for all of 4/6ths of a second then stops. It was running just fine this morning. No one had touched it since then.

I press power again and again, unplug and replug things, check for burns. Nothing.

Clear weather all day. No power surges.
I wonder if my PSU just up and croaked, but that makes no sense...

Ideas?

ya i would say its dead. my rosewill 450w psu had the same symptoms as yours did. so you should test with another psu or use a power supply tester to make sure it is the psu. im 99% sure it will be the psu but it never hurts testing.

PSUs don't really need a reason to go out; they just do.

If you have not already, flip the power switch off on your PSU for ~20 seconds (NOT THE RED VOLTAGE SWITCH). You'll hear a small zap sound and then turn it back on.

I did already, because I disassembled the PC. I just fired it up and it's staying on. :D

If I had not done this I think you would have come through for me because I never would have thought of your suggestion by itself.

BIOS forgot everything. ):

Configuring..

Succshens!

Thanks for the replies. I was freakin' out there.

My G15? Doubt it. Even the bug it was having with the macro app crashing remedied itself.

USB keyboards are known to have problems with motherboards.

That's new to me, but I have had no issues with the keyboard itself, and this would certainly be a random issue. I do think I could use a higher output PSU. I'm running 430W.
