Right now I have a 19 inch Trinitron CRT. It's a nice display but it's awfully exhausting for the eyes, even with the screen filter on. Besides it's tremendous volume gives it a very heavy weight. So I have to get rid of it soon, both for my eye health and obsolete-ness (dunno if that word exists but eh).

What are the best computer monitors nowadays?

I'm looking for something about 19-21" that doesn't put an enormous amount of strain on your eyes and has a good quality image. Price doesn't matter.

Samsung 226 BW is an excellent screen for an awesome price. It's definately not the best out there, but the most affordable high quality monitor with good color reproduction (default settings) and decent black levels. It's the monitor I would recommend the most.

The 226CW is slightly better and shouldn't cost much more than the standard 226BW. Samsung released the 226CW in response to the S A and C fiasco and at the same time improved the color gamut with the 226CW.

I thought it was just a sure way of getting an S panel monitor. Are you sure it's actually improved too?
