Ok, this isn't a *I have a super uber computer that im showing off* thread, I just want to know realistically what I should expect for graphics settings and framerates from HL2

Pentium® 4 Processor 640 with HT Technology (3.20GHz, 800 FSB)
1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz (2x512M)
256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800
80GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Single Drive: 16X DVD-ROM Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy™ 2 ZS (D) Card w/Dolby 5.1, IEEE 1394 capability

Thanks in advance for the hel[

Nothing below 150 in terms of FPS with max on everything.

Ya it is. I mean seriously, do you think you could ever have a performance problem with a setup like that?

My friends computer is a AMD 64bit 3400+ with 2 GeForce 6800 GTs and 2GB of RAM but at maximum graphics & resolution it still stutters in heavy fighting.

That GFX card is a little slow, IMO. I'd go for a GT OCed to Ultra at the very least.

And forget the P4. Build an A64 system. You'll be happier with it in the long run.

Nothing wrong with his system, will run HL2 great, enjoy.

Nice looking system. Have you run 3DMark05? I predict that it would give you a score of 3600.

Why waste money on such fast machines which aren't necessary? Back in 1996, I was a poor student playing Quake on a 486 DX2/66 and I was very happy with that!
