ok so today i was messing around with overclocking and hadto reset my cmos, so then after that when i get to windows my cd drive dont work and what i mean by that is it doesnt even detect when i look under removable storage under my computer it just has a floppy drive! and i dont even have a floppy drive on my computer, so I was wondering if there was some way in the biow to make it so its a cd-rom drivE? and also i get reinstall windows xp because i get my cd drive to work, if anyone knows how fix my problem or can tell me a way to format my computer with putting in the cd so i can reinstall everything please tell me your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You more than likely have the IDE cable going to the cdrom, upside down. Which would make windows not detect your cdrom as being installed. Either that, or you don't have the power connector (white plastic connector with red/yellow/black wires) connected to the cdrom.

Windows will always show a floppy drive in "My Computer". Even if you don't have one. So Windows isn't "turning your CDRom into a floppy drive".
