Concept picture on Playstation 3?

I have seen several concept pictures..



Search arround, there are some really really cool ones.



But I dont like consoles and I have a nice PC. So I wont be wasteing my money :)

Oh, PS3 won’t be out until 2005, so it’s a looong time left. :)

Look, that picture can be false, why? Well, maybe it isn’t an official concept, just a private person that made it.
 
Sorry if I sound too indifferent, but why care? Usually a concept will hardly look like the end product. Doubt it'll be made from chrome or something like that, maybe a limited edition. Not the end product.
 
I hardly doubt that will be the PS3, and besides it looks kind of ugly.

Those last 2 look pretty fuggin' sick :p.

The second-to-last one looks the best IMO.
 
The last 2 and the top one were sweet, the rest looked damn fugly. Like a VCR from 1985.

Anyway, although this stuff would be nice, the end result will not even closely resemble it. I doubt this is even official concept art, it probably isn't even in the planning stages for sony.

And just so you guys know, you probably won't see a circular console like the topic starter suggested. It's very inneficient, the majority of motherboards are shaped at 90 degree angles which would cause for wasted space and wasted money on the manufacturers part.

That's a PS2 home entertainment system sort of thingy. Not the ps3 ;)
 
PSX to be exact... supposed to come out before PS3 I believe.

Hmm also mentioned - PSP

Wow, thats a big coaster.. All my party guests could use it and still have room for more.



Xbox 2 will pwn. Xbox already does pwn... What is pwn anyway?
 
Have any of you read anything about how the PS3 will work internally? From what I've heard/read it will have something like a dozen processors which will work in synch with each other to make it uber-powerful.

The problem thats been pointed out with that is programming for a dozen processors is going to be uber-difficult/expensive.

Seems kinda counter productive to make a powerful machine so complicated it encourages developers to make games for other platforms.

Yea but it could be bullshit hype...which is more than likely is or just some random rumor...anyways SUPPOSEDLY in this mag I was reading they said the discs that the games would be on would have something like 40gbs (or maybe 60...i wanna say 60 for some reason) of space.
 
Your forgetting that prices of comp parts drop quite quickly, and also if you looked at how much shops buy things from surplers from, you would be shocked at how low it is

Remember kiddies, never buy your computer from a shop! :cheers:
 
whatever happened to the PS 2.5 ? I heard it was released in Japan but I'm not sure.

This is a real console, it was on the 'money' part of the CNN site a few months ago.
