I've just finished Half-Life 2 and i loved it, I did have some concerns that i'm not going to get into because they were minor....BUT! the big one is am i even gunna get to play half-life 3 in my life time.... :| What if they take another long 7 years...my god....

It's not going to take over 3 years, I don't think. They have the source engine down, they have steam down, they've organised all the tools, all they really need to do is work on the game itself.

I'm not sure a pure HL3 (as linear as HL2 was) would go down that well. I'd like to see them take longer and add some replay value, make it a bit less scripted.

Well, I doubt Valve will even mention it for at least two years. There are still expansions on HL2 to come and although it probably won't take another 6/7 years, there's no sense in expecting any info whatsoever for a long while. Stop being so impatient

Well the ati levels are meant to be finished before the end of the year, thats unlikely, but with the Full SDK, and the expected december updates to CSS, it shouldnt be to long before we see more regular content.
