configuring a Logitech MX1000 mouse

hi there, a newbie here and it's my first post.

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. Just recently bought HL2 and a Logitech MX1000 mouse. The game and mouse are great. The problem I'm having is configuring the extra buttons on the mouse, the game doesn't recognise them and was wondering if there is some way of enabling them as the game recognises the additional buttons on a MS optical mosue I have? It's the same thing with Far Cry too.

Change the BACK, FORWARD and MIDDLE mouse buttons to 'generic button' using the software that came with your mouse. It will enable them to be configurable within games.

Make sure you install teh software that came with the mouse.

I never installed the software with my mx700 and I never had that problem. :|

If you dont install the software that came with the mx1000 it will work just as well
